2013 Introduction and Try-Out

You want to start rowing in our Junior Competitive Program but you want to check it out before you commit? Join this introductory program. Using indoor rowing machines, our indoor rowing tank, and stable sculling shells, you will have an introduction to rowing before joining the club. Rowing requires a year-round commitment to training… find out if you’ve go what it takes!

This program is for youth 14 – 18 years of age. All participants must hold a ‘Swim To Survive’ certificate or equivalent (roll into deep water, tread water for 1 minute, swim 50 meters).

Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing appropriate to the weather and bring a water bottle. After successfully completing this introductory program, youth who wish to continue rowing may join the Junior Competitive program.

Cost: $100.00 / Maximum 8 participants per session

Program Dates:

Session 1

Monday, April 29 – Friday, May 10, 2013 from 4 – 6 pm weekdays, 10 am – 12 noon Saturday

Session 2

Monday, August 19 – Friday, August 30, 2013 from 4 – 6 pm weekdays, 10 am – 12 noon Saturday

Session 3

Monday, May 27 – Friday, June 7, 2013 from 4 – 6 pm weekdays, 10 am – 12 noon Saturday

To register, go to our Registration application at www.clubworks.ca or click on the "Create / Pay Club Membership" button in the top-right corner of our website. Create an account, and then purchase the appropriate 'package' for the session of your choice. From Clubworks you will then also be directed to go to the Rowing Canada website to register - this if for administrative purposes and has no additional cost to you.
