World Masters 2010 – (ANOTHER GOLDEN) DAY 2

Day 2 of the World Masters Regatta and 13 races in which members of the DRC competed. And also the day of the beginning of the end of the year. From 2 to 3pm the world showed how fracial we are and send thunder and lighting and ... the vorboten of winter ... cooling down temperatures. But no masters rower around the world accepted this and again a fantastic regatta - suspence in a lot of races and big names of the past a shining again ... even our old DRC coach Volker Nolte was on the side.

Women 8+ - Kim, Laura, Marisha, Cynthia, Cori, Kelley, Deb, Erin and (cox) Mike

Yesterday our girls could win the womens 8+ in the fastest time of all women 8s. What would be today, a new combination with our UTM student Kim, last year the first time in the boat, this year at the World Masters. And again, our girls have a fantastic start and after 250 already a comfi lead ... building and building ... and finally, again the fastest womens 8+ of the day. Second win of our girls ... in a "not so exciting but winning" race. Congratulations ... also thank you to all our subs of the comp team which helped our during the training in the past weeks

Women 2x - Ania and Justyna

Out of rec, out of the UTM novice program - both girls developed a heard winning dynamic and finally made their way to St. Catharines. Still shaky in their movements but slowly finding their way to move the boat. Our new-comers for the future ... building up the youth of our Masters team. 5th in their race (only 6sc to 2nd) and more confident and happy then ever before. well done girls and ROCK THE BOAT

Women 1x - Heather

Our small power house. Everyday on the Credit river ... chasing white rabbits and other internal oponents ... when will it be, that Heather will beat the world? Heather deserved today to be picture of the day ... the most worst situations on the water, white caps of tail wind storm waves ... but Heather risks everything and she wins against most of her demons, inside and outside. 2nd at the end in her heat ... 7th fastest time of 45 starter .... yes Heather you are there. Good race and looking forward ... thanks to be part of your single development

Men 2- - Nick and Steve

Steve and Ingo ... aeehhh - Steve and Nick, Ingo could not race because of his muscular injury .... so Nick jumped on the horse 2- with Steve. Never rowed together .... baby steps ... no chance against 2- pros, but the trip looks like a trip into the future. Small boats of the DRC has to be developed to increase he winning chances of our big boats ... and here they are, the knights with broken armour ... but still there, still sitting in the boat ... and we will see. Thanks to Nick who risk and finally won

Women 2x - Gilda and Jane

Today ... not the day Gilda and Jane ... from the flat water credit river high performnce rowing center to the course of Dusk to Dawn devil-waves St. Catharines .... the old saying ... a good rowing can row in any condition ... what a nonsense, but also Jane and Gilda never really find her style ... finally 5th, with more expectations ... back into the reality. We all cheered and we all loose - we all have to become better that we all can smile and love after our races .... thanks to Gilda and Jane

.............. the next crews on the water ... Don, Jens, Andrew, Nick and Margie - Brian and Mike .... a recall, the clouds and the falling rain showed who really rules the world .... 90 min break and everybody forced to come back and stop their warmup

AND NOW - THE END OF THE WORLD - OUR TEAM CAPTURED IN THE SHELTER OF EDs TENT

(NOW IT IS 10.44 PM - END OF TALKING)
