World Masters 2010 – (ANOTHER MORE GOLDEN) DAY 3
[G2:22443]
Today ... the busiest day of DRC ... at least 13 races ... arriving at the course, arriving with wind, 20 miles per hour, and picking up. The first races start again at 8 am and so does the first boat of us ....

Women 2x - Heather and Lyn
Lyn jumped in for Jane, who could not race because of med-reasons. Lyn from St. Catharines and Heather jumped in the first time in their live - for the race of their life. Heather on stroke, in the gate of the World Masters in already 30 miles per hour wind ... everybody already really afraid what will happen during the race and "our" girls had a good race. The started not so superior but right in the middle of the field, the hammered down the course ... 3rd finally for the first time racing ... a good potential race and we hope to redo the action. Thanks to Lyn for having the race opportunity for Heather and the DRC

Men 4+ - Don, Russ, Greg, Harold and John
2nd in Canadian Henley Regatta a few weeks ago ... but now in 40 Miles per hour wind ... the first singles already flipped in the wind. Harold still a Harold slamped the oar in deep sea and the rest of his crew in a shower of wavy water. Our crew need 150 meter to come out of the waterfall but with an accelaration .... wosh ... coming from behind ... catching up,boat by boat and on the finish line bowball to bowball to second place ... but just by a few tenth of a secone 3rd. Again the boat showed their potential ... thanks for this repeating performance .... DRC is proud of all of them

Women 1x - Lynda
now .... 45 miles per hour wind. Lynda pushed all over the course. The empire in her pushed her back in her lane, and then pushed out again - but Lynda is leading, but also empiring herself ... an ongoing game which got riskyer and riskyer as closer she comes to the finish line ... the finish sprint and the girl right by her side pushed Lynda to the limit ... and Lyndas brain again empires herself in her lane again ... finish line and Lynda is loosing by 100st of a second .... Lynda sometimes it would be wiser to trust the force in you (old saying from the republic)
[G2:22437]
Women 2- - Deb and Katie
50 mph ... and Deb and Katie are not sure if the should even go out on the water ... but the coach pushed them away, really certain that those girls will rule the water ... and Deb showed it ... no Credit river could stop her, all the confident she got from the last weeks training in our river and the always calm Katie let her grew over herself. Our 6 foot tall Deb sprinted away from the field and won and won and won .... fantastic race girls and the Jeff Lay showed again his talent. Thanks for this race and the first Gold medal of the day
[G2:22458]
Men 4- - Gerd, Nick, Tibor and Don
now crazy wind .... unmessurable. Our big boys in a middle size boat ... and Phil Monkton in his Olympic Gold Medalist World Record Time Boat in the sheltered tail wind lane .... puhhh .... what a competition. Gerd sprinted out of he blocks and tried to keep in touch with the Untouchables ... but Nick, Don, Tibor and Gerd get hit by wave and wave, the whole technic went upside down and the wind and and and ... today was the day, every coach accepted every excuse ... it was unfair and unrowable ... and the last race of the day ....
Cancellation because of storm
