Fun - Fun - Fun! Our Youth Rowing Camps bring you right into this great Olympic sport! This program is geared towards youth 13 -16 years of age who are ready to give the sport a try. You need to hold a Swim To Survive Certificate or equivalent (roll into deep water, tread water for 1 minute, swim 50 metres).
A dedicated team of Learn-to-Row Coaches teach basic rowing techniques, individual skill development, and safe boat-handling skills. All Youth Camp registrants are invited to participate in the annual Tony Fooks Regatta and BBQ held in August.
This program runs for two hours per day (either morning or afternoon) for 10 days over a 2-week period. Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing & shoes, and bring extra socks, a sun hat, sunscreen and a water bottle.
After successfully completing the program, youth who wish to continue rowing may join the Junior Competitive program.
