Fun - Fun - Fun! Our youth Rowing Camp brings you right into this great Olympic sport! This is a great introduction to what could become a life-long passion - or it might be great cross-training for other sports.
A dedicated team of Learn to Row Coaches teach basic rowing techniques, individual skill development, and safe boat-handling skills. All Youth Camp participants are invited to race in the annual Tony Fooks Regatta in August.
The program runs for 2 hours per day for 10 days. (Session dates below.) Registrants must hold a Swim To Survive Certificate or equivalent (roll into deep water, tread water for 1 minute, swim 50 metres). Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing appropriate for the weather, and bring athletic shoes, extra socks, sun hat, sunscreen, a water bottle and snacks.
Upon successfully completing this program, youth who want to continue rowing may join the Junior Competitive Program.
This program is held in partnership with the City of Mississauga.
