Programs offered at the Don Rowing Club
The Don Rowing Club offers programs for all ages and levels of experience. If you are new to rowing, try the Adult Learn to Row or the Rowing Sampler. Otherwise, you are sure to find a place in the Masters, Competitive, or Recreational programs!
Recreational Rowing
There is life without competitive rowing. Rowing just for the fun of it, or with maybe only a hint of competition, is being discovered by more and more people.
Competitive Rowing
The competitive program at the DRC is considered to be a high performance category of rowing. To compete at this level requires a year-round commitment, with six training sessions each week during the winter.
Masters Rowing
Some can't stop it, others start late in life. This program provides mature athletes (age 27 and over) with the opportunity to retain their competitive edge.
Coxswains
Rowers value a good coxswain highly. Being in control of 2000 pounds of carbon fibre, wood, aluminum and flesh and bone requires self-confidence, a quick mind and alertness.
Row for Heart
Row for Heart is a partnership program between the Don Rowing Club of Mississauga and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Rowing is a perfect sport for all ages as it is a low-impact aerobic activity.
Accelerated Introduction to Rowing
Do you want a new sport or new challenge? This program is geared towards people over 16 years of age who want to discover rowing, whether for fun & fitness or for the competitive nature of the sport.
Rowing Sampler
Are you curious about rowing and just want to try it out? Are you looking for something different. The Rowing Sampler does not require any previous experience -- in just three hours get a taste of the sport.
Youth Summer Camp
Want a summer full of fun on the water this year?? Join the Don Rowing Club’s summer rowing camp. This program is geared towards youth age 10 to 16 years of age who want to learn to row or continue building on previous experience. Rowing is a perfect sport for all ages.
