Learn to Row
Do you want a new sport or new challenge? This program is geared towards people over 16 years of age who want to discover rowing, whether for fun & fitness or for the competitive nature of the sport. This program does not require any previous experience however it would serve as an excellent refresher for those who have some rowing background and wish to return to the sport. Using stable sculling boats the program will focus on learning basic rowing technique and safe boat-handling skills.
We offer two streams of Learn to Row: Accelerated for those who would like to move on to a competitive stream, and Recreational for those who prefer to just learn to row as a past-time. All Participants must attend an Orientation Session.
Acclerated Stream
Accelerated is 4 weeks long and is incorporated with the Development program that is currently being coached by Claire and Sasha. At the end of 4 weeks, the athlete is to register as a competitive member of the club (either summer student competitive or full year competitive). These individuals can attend weekday sessions that are 7:30 to 9:30 am and 3:30 to 5:30pm. We will offer an evening Learn to Row, running Monday and Wed evenings at 6:30pm for 4 weeks. Evening sessions will begin the week of June 29th and we require a minimum of 4 athletes to run a session.
Recreational Stream
LTR for Rec will be from 6:30-8:30pm on Mon and Wed.
